Founded in 2013 on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, 32 Lakes Coffee Roasters has built its reputation on two core values: roasting premium coffee and maintaining a deep commitment to sustainability. Co-founders Margot and Nathan Jantz have led the company to earn Green Leader and Surfrider Certifications since 2020, demonstrating their leadership in environmental and social responsibility.

32 Lakes exclusively sources hand-picked Arabica beans grown at high altitudes for superior flavor. The roasting team uses advanced software and temperature probes to create custom profiles that enhance the beans’ natural sweetness and complexity, ensuring each cup meets high-quality standards.

Sustainability is embedded in every aspect of the business. The company produces only three bags of waste each year by repurposing resources. Chaff from roasting is used in local gardens, burlap bags become mulch, and plastic Grain Pro bags serve as garbage bags for the roastery, 32 Lakes Cafe and Bakery, and community cleanups.

Local deliveries are made using an electric vehicle, and by partnering with Geazone Eco-Courier, the company offers zero-emission deliveries across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island, further supporting its emissions-reduction goals.

32 Lakes’ commitment to the environment extends to their Quarterly Cleanups, which have removed over 918 pounds of garbage from local beaches and parks. Led by staff and volunteers, these cleanups align with the company’s mission of environmental stewardship.

Additionally, the Bean2Soup Program reflects 32 Lakes’ dedication to community support. By donating 1% of coffee sales and all proceeds from merchandise, the program provides soup to food banks and senior centers, with ingredients sourced from local farms.
