Established in 1863, the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce is the region’s most diverse and influential business association. With over 1300 members and a mission to foster both good business and a great community for all, the Victoria Chamber represents the diverse voices in the Greater Victoria community.

Hosting over 60 events annually, the Chamber is dedicated to minimizing its environmental impact. To achieve this, it is transitioning from paper to digital formats for event programs, check-in lists, tickets, and promotions. Additionally, it offers virtual events when possible, including webinars and information sessions, and hybrid options for all meetings.

The Victoria Chamber also integrates sustainability into its operating policies. It follows a sustainable purchasing policy for all new equipment and supplies, conducts regular waste audits, and allows staff to work from home twice a week. Since joining the BC Green Business program in 2017, its efforts have helped diverting over 10,000 kilograms of waste.

The Chamber’s Public Policy and Advocacy Committee actively promotes climate action leadership in discussions with governments, media, and business leaders to drive positive, meaningful change. It also highlights sustainable initiatives in external communications to members, including their BizNews newsletter, website, and social media channels.

The Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce is proud to be a BC Green Business Green Leader and a Surfrider Approved BC Ocean Friendly Business. It continues to lead by example, striving to build a sustainable business community for Greater Victoria and beyond.
